Mark your calendar for June 24, 2017 and get ready to head to Scranton, PA to celebrate Penn Foster Graduates from our High School, Career School, and College! In June we will host our annual graduation ceremony to commemorate our students' successes. Graduates and their families travel from all over the country to have the chance to walk across the stage and celebrate their great achievement.

Graduates from all Penn Foster schools and any completion year can participate in the ceremony. Graduates must be 100% academically complete to participate. All graduates must purchase a graduate ticket and a cap & gown from the Penn Foster Bookstore.

COMMENCEMENT AGENDA

11:00 AM - REGISTRATION OPENS


Upon arrival to the Lackawanna College campus, you'll proceed to the registration area inside the theater at Angeli Hall. Have your ticket ready on your smartphone or printed. Graduates will be assigned to a Graduate Host, who will escort you to your assigned seat.

11:30 AM - PHOTOBOOTH & PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS


Have fun in our photo-booth where you can pose with your family and friends using different props or have your professional headshot taken by our expert photographer. You can view photos from the 2016 Graduation here.

IMPORTANT: All graduates must be registered and seated by 1:30 PM in time for rehearsal.

Your assigned Penn Foster Graduate Host will help you find your seats, walk you through the ceremony, advise on entering and exiting the stage, and serve to answer any questions you may have.

REQUIREMENTS

Q: What are the requirements to participate in the graduation?

A:

    • All academic requirements must be successfully completed and an overall passing grade average achieved before ticket sales close.
    • A graduate ticket must be purchased**
    • Graduates must travel to the ceremony in Scranton, PA. Travel expenses are not covered by Penn Foster.
    • Please note: tuition is not required to be paid in full to participate in the ceremony.
    • Professional attire is recommended.

**All graduate ticket purchases are subject to review for verification of graduation status.


Q: Do I need to purchase my own cap & gown?

A: Yes. An official Penn Foster cap and gown can be purchased from the: Penn Foster Bookstore.

    • To ensure timely delivery, orders must be placed no later than May 1st, 2017.

Q: When is a student considered academically complete?

A: All academic requirements must be successfully completed and an overall passing grade average achieved before ticket sales close.

Q: Can I still participate in the ceremony if I am close to completing my program?

A: No, only students who are 100% complete academically may participate; all exams submitted and passed, and an overall passing grade average achieved.

Q: Do I have to be paid in full to participate in the graduation?

A: No, you do not have to be paid in full, but all academics must be completed and passed.

TICKETS

Q: Where can I purchase a graduate ticket?

A: Graduate tickets can be purchased on this page through Event Brite. You will receive a confirmation email after purchase which will include a PDF of your ticket.

Q: Where can I purchase guest tickets?

A: Guest tickets must be purchased through the Theatre Box Office and are not sold through Penn Foster. Click here to learn more.

Q: How many guest tickets can I purchase?

A: Seating is limited, therefore a maximum of four (4) guest tickets per participating graduate will be available.

Q: Do children require a ticket?

A: Yes, children are welcome to attend with the purchase of a guest ticket.

Q: Will tickets be sold on-site the day of the event?

A: No. You will not be able to purchase tickets at the door. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance of the event to ensure entrance to the graduation ceremony.

Q: Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

A: Yes, please print your ticket OR have your smartphone handy with the email confirmation ready at check-in.

Q: What does the cost of my graduate ticket cover?

A: Your graduate ticket covers the cost of the event as well as your tassel and diploma holder. Ticket costs DO NOT cover caps, gowns, academic attire, travel or accommodations.

Q: If I buy a ticket, but don't graduate in time for the event, will I get a refund?

A: No, ticket sales are final and all ticket purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for credit, attendance at other events, or anything else offered by Penn Foster.

Q: When is graduation?

A: Graduation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017. Announcements will be sent to the email address on file for all graduates and to the Penn Foster Student Community.

Q: What time do graduates need to be at the event?

A: The ceremony will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017. Doors and registration open promptly at 11:00 AM. We encourage graduates to arrive no later than 12:00 PM Eastern. The location is Peoples Security Bank Theater at Lackawanna College, Angeli Hall, 501 Vine Street, Scranton, PA 18509. View Map.


Q: What should I bring with me?

A:

    1. Please print your ticket OR have your smartphone handy with the email confirmation at check-in.
    2. If you want a professional headshot taken, please wear or bring a change of professional clothing to the ceremony.
    3. Make sure to bring your official Penn Foster Cap & Gown with you. There will not be extras on-site.

Q: Will I get my diploma on the day of the event?

A: No. Official diplomas are mailed to your address of record. The ceremony being symbolic, is meant to celebrate the successes of our students; however you will receive something special during the ceremony to commemorate your special day.


Q: What is the refund policy?

A: Ticket sales are final and all ticket purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for credit, attendance at other events, or anything else offered by Penn Foster.

Q: Will there be another graduation this year?

A: No, the June 24th graduation is the only ceremony planned for 2017. The next graduation will be in 2018.
